:for it’s beautiful creation of the Silver Surfer, explosions and the wonderfully done blackhole

:for it’s realistic transformation sequences

:for shooting almost the entire film on a blue screen, creating the most perfect villains and fight sequences in doing so

:for it’s intense battle sequences not deafening the audience

:for it’s perfectionist tendencies on facial damages

:for it’s SUNMAN and disturbing ‘in space’ scene

:for it’s ability to make the beautiful Helena Bonham Carter look menacing and insane. Just so you don’t ask ‘why don’t you nominate Harry Potter then?’, it’s also here for it’s brilliant use of blood, gore, dirt and frazzled hair

28 Weeks Later
:for the realness of the infection

[on a side note, Norbit gets too much hate. It's not just a fat suit. It made Murphy look like an Asian realistically... and of course the cellulite on the fat suit was disturbingly realistic. it's my #6]

:for it’s ability to incorporate old shacks, trains and gargantuan theaters in one flick

:for it’s calm, yet creepy detention center

:for giving us a taste of the rich life

:for it’s quaint mixture of brothels, jail houses, interiors of carriages and ‘richer’ people’s housing

:for it’s ever lasting impression on you, along with it’s enchanting adorableness

:for it’s catchy melody and catchy lyrics

:for bringing some sort of emotion to an otherwise empty scene; emotionally

:for flowing perfectly with the indie vibe the film gives off; as well as being ever-so-cute

“Guilty as Charged” - Walk Hard : The Dewey Cox Story
:for having the listener spurt out random lyrics from the song at any given occasion

“Beautiful Ride” - Walk Hard : The Dewey Cox Story
:for invoking sorrow, laughter and reflection all in a span of five minutes

:for having the emotional impact to make the listener tear up

:for having some of the most depressing lyrics of 2007, as well as fitting in with it’s film perfectly

:for making a 140 minute film fun to watch, keeping all the events in the film interesting

:for it’s stylized fight sequences and fast pacing throughout

:for making a 160 minute film fun to watch, keeping all the events in the film interesting. With this, it has incredible pacing, and it’s basically perfect

:for making the film much more interesting than it would’ve been if edited linear, and more

:because the screenplay works on all levels; whether it be a hard-hitting drama to a suspenseful crime film

:because the Oscar bait is tasty sometimes

:because sentimentality mixed with suspense is great, if executed well

:because the disturbing twists and turns the film has makes it one of the most intriguing films of 2007

:because the grittiness of the direction, the vibrancy of the screenplay and the perfect ensemble make for one fantastic film

:because the mesmerizing and sharp direction and wonderful ensemble make this film about being a prisoner in your own mind ‘fun’ to watch.
