My thoughts on the winners:

Best Picture - It seem less and less likely that a film will emerge a winner against No Country for Old Men in this category. Only ‘There Will Be Blood’ has any type of chance (judging by critics awards alone), and even that film is getting mixed responses. Yesterday, it won Austin’s critics award. Today, it misses Las Vegas’ Top Ten.

Best Director - Basically the same as above. At least it’ll be nice to see the Coen brothers up on stage for the first time, claiming their well deserved prize.

Best Actor in a Leading Role - Daniel Day-Lewis looks to be on his way to another win for Best Actor, bar a spontaneous win from someone else; which seems very unlikely. I really do hope his performance lives up to all the hype.

Best Actress in a Leading Role - Well, it started off with Christie sweeping awards. Then Cotillard had a little streak. Now Page is on a roll. This is a very intense race. I’m getting giddy thinking about who could win!

Best Actor in a Supporting Role - With this win, Bardem becomes the first person to win ten critics awards this year. I’d say it’s safe to say he’s the most probable winner.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role - Cate Blanchett is on a roll. After there was much skepticism in this category, she seems to be looking very good right about now. Amy Ryan was dominating the category, for those who don’t know.

Best Screenplay - As I’ve said before, it’s a lovely feeling to know that your favourite ‘whatever’ is winning oh so many awards. Cody’s script is lovely, hilarious and doesn’t resort to cursing to make you laugh. Not to say I dislike films with cursing, it’s just rare to find a PG-13 film with so many hilarious moments.

Best Documentary - Back and forth, forth and back. I really hope Sicko wins this category at the Oscars, just so I can hear Moore’s always outrageous speeches.

Best Foreign Language Film - Alright, my anticipation for this film is now through the roof. Sadly, all this film is doing is making this category more hazy by the day. No actual eligible films have won in this category much. Oh well… go “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”!

Best Film Editing - I’m so happy to see The Bourne Ultimatum win something. The film’s film editing was quite good, indeed. So many quick transitions. Lots of intense moments enhanced by the editing. Just great stuff. I hope it gets nominated.

Best Costume Design - As I said before, Sweeney Todd looks like a film that’ll have fantastic technical aspects. So far, it’s won in art direction, costume design and cinematography. I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say this film will get more than enough nominations.

Best Art Direction - While Harry Potter’s art direction is quite good, there are so many films that deserve this win more. Oh well, it seems only fitting that Harry Potter wins at least ’something’ every year.

Best Animated Film - Yeah, I’m sure it’s safe to say Ratatouille has won this award already.

Best Visual Effects - It’s the first critic award for this category and a deserving film won it. That’s always nice to see. Go Transformers.

Best Original Song - I’m sure when I see this film later today, it’ll have one of the funniest, most enjoyable songs of the year. Go Reilly, Apatow and all Walk Hard related stuff.

Best Original Score - There are so many more deserving scores. It’s getting quite annoying that this film will (most likely) win Best Original Score. Damn There Will Be Blood.
